Possessed Necklace
by Nympho3278

I had an experience with a "possessed" necklace a couple years back. I live in an area of Ohio that used to be heavy Native American territory. I stopped into a small Indian store not far from my house one evening. The owner knows me well, as I am always buying Indian jewelry from him. I had seen a silver necklace with a Zuni flute player, that I just had to have. It was unique; it didn't look like all the other typical Kokopellis you see everywhere. It was very detailed and in an unusual pose. I purchased it and proudly wore it for the next few days.

Over time, however, like most of my jewelry, I put it back in its box on my dresser and forgot about it. It probably would have slipped my mind completely had I not had the following bizarre experience.

One night, I was alone at home, and was very tired after work. I was so exhausted, I laid down in the computer den, down the hall from my own room. I had barely fallen asleep when I heard a very loud, beautiful flute music coming from my room. I laid there for a few minutes, trying to muster up enough energy to go explore the source. It was eerie, but beautiful. It also had a clarity that made me sure it was not coming from a recording. I listened to it for about two minutes. Then, as suddenly as it had started, it just stopped. I ran to my room and turned on the light. I don't have a radio in my room, and the only stereo in the house was turned off. I was also the only one home.

Interestingly, the silver Indian flute player was sitting in the open box. I know it hadn't been opened when I first got home, because I had put away another piece of jewelry on my dresser, and all my other pieces were all boxed up. In fact, I had totally forgotten about the necklace. I was also the only one home, and the doors were all locked.
