Mysterious
Fireballs
by J Ray
I came across an article about mysterious balls of fire in the sky in Florida, and I was reminded of an evening two or three years ago when I saw something similar. I live in North Carolina, and I saw two balls of fire flying through the sky. At first, I saw just one, and I thought a plane had exploded, because it was going down, but then the fireball suddenly started going back up. It flew in various directions at high speeds in a way planes or helicopters are not known to do.
They weren't meteors, because these weren't falling, but flying around the sky. I live near Fort Bragg, but this didn't appear to be something the military was doing; it didn't behave like a known aircraft, and it was to big to be a human paratrooper or something... plus paratroopers only go down, not back up. Also, the fireballs I saw were viewed mainly in the direction opposite of the base. A friend of mine also saw one of them.
A night or two later, my sister's family and some neighbors saw a white light hovering in the sky (which isn't what I saw, but since it was only a couple of nights later, I took note of it). It was far away so they couldn't tell it what it was, but it did appear to be something mechanical, yet not a helicopter. My friend that had seen one when I did said he brought it up at work the next day, and someone else said they had seen a fireball on another night. I never figured out what it was. It was neat to see at the time, but I've never given it a lot of thought. I've read and heard so many paranormal and UFO stories, there isn't much that seems strange to me anymore.
