Breath of the Ghost
by Brian

I've always been intrigued by the paranormal, with more a curiosity than fear. In 2002 I lived in a small house in St Petersburg, Florida. This house was normal, like any other house, unless you were alone. When I came home from work, I could hear it breathing. I even turned off the main breaker, thinking it might be some piece of equipment running. Nope. And I couldn't pinpoint the breathing either. It was everywhere... heavy, long, deep breaths. Like something huge sleeping. Any time day or night, I could hear large movement up in the attic, like "shhh bump!" which I would immediately investigate, but nothing was up there.

My roommates would tell me about seeing me on the couch when they walk in and talking to me while they were in the bathroom, but I would never reply, and when they come out I'm not there. This happened often.

One night at about 11:30 p.m. I was shaving in the bathroom when it got kinda cold, and in the mirror I saw the towel hanging off the shower rod moving toward me, as if someone's head were slipping under it walking out of the shower. I turned my head toward it, like anyone would, and it was really happening. It rolled out until it flipped at the end about a foot from me and fell back straight, like whatever it was was out from under the towel. I said, "ooo-kay" and finished my shave, sort of waiting for more.

I told my wife about the experience, and she told me about the young blonde girl who would watch her from time to time as she put on makeup. She had blue eyes and a thin frame and would lean flat against the wall just watching.
