Attacked by the Jin
by Zubair Mehdi

This is my real story about a ghost (jin). I belong to a strict Muslim background and I live in India. I never believed that ghosts live on earth, but after this incident I came to know that there is something, which is enough evidence to believe that ghosts live with us.

When I finished my dinner outside with my friends, I came to home late after discussing some freaky incidents of ghosts, which I never believe (actually I was waiting for them to happen to me). I got ready for bed, locked my room from the inside and jumped in bed. I began thinking if it is that true what I discussed with friends. Then I turned my mind from there and started concentrating on sleep.

I was almost sleeping when I realized someone was sitting on my chest and trying to kill me by forcing their hands on my neck. I was trying to awake. My whole body was jammed. I couldn't move my eyes or fingers, like I was a dead body - hopeless, helpless, like someone gave me a dose of anesthesia. I tried a lot and realized I could open my eyes. I saw a short man sitting - like blurred image, like a shadow that can be seen through by sideview.

I tried began reading our holy Ayaats from the Qoran from inside my heart, and I felt it was getting over with. "Oh God," I prayed that night for it not to happen again. Who knew this will be a matter of daily routine. I felt it for three days continiously. After that, I discussed this whole matter with our Imam (who prays in the mosque). He told me that I should change my bed from that place. I did, and that night I slept in peace. Since that incident, I have learned many things about jins.
