Bedside Apparition

I want to relate a story about something that happened to me when I was about 16 years old. I am 34 now, but the memory is still very fresh; it would be hard to forget something like this. It was the night before I was to go to Florida with my friends for spring break and I had just gotten into trouble with my mom. She was threatening me with not letting me go. I went to my bedroom distraught, thinking that she might go through with it. I had a stereo in my room and I turned off the lights, turned on Pink Floyd’s "Wish You Were Here" and lay on my bed. (I want to add that I was not drunk, on drugs, etc.)

The only light in the room was from the LED display of the stereo. I was lying for a few minutes on my back, looking at the ceiling, at nothing in particular when I noticed the ceiling start to disappear. At first what I saw was smoke start to come over the ceiling like my room was on fire or something, though I was wide awake and very much aware that it wasn't. It became a very thick cloud of smoke that drifted from one side of the room to the other, out one wall and through the next. I remember thinking how strange, but at the same time I didn’t seem to be able to move or do anything about it; I felt paralyzed.

Then, out of the smoke I saw ropes with knots on the ends drop down, maybe a dozen or so, and one of them dropped in front of me. Just then, I was compelled to sit up and grab a hold of it and pull down on it. As I did so, all the ropes were drawn upward back into the smoke layer. Immediately after that, I saw something amazing. Coming out of the left wall, just below the smoke/clouds, a human figure floated above me. It was a man with a billowing white robe, a white beard and his arms were outstretched as if he was surfing on air or something. He was looking down at me and floated from one side of the room to the other. He then floated through the top of the right wall. As he did so, I saw two glowing yellowish orbs about four feet off the ground appear on either side of my bed. At this I wanted to get up and turn on the lights I was so scared but I was really paralyzed. The orbs elongated themselves and turned into two people, but with a glow about them.

I can still perfectly picture them. The one on my left was Hispanic looking with a jean jacket and red plaid shirt on, and on the right was a white guy with a leather jacket and a blue shirt. They stood next to my bed on either side of me and were looking at me. The one on my left even bent forward and got very close to my face, about a foot or so, and I couldn’t move a muscle. He stood back up looked at the other guy and they then immediately faded just the way they appeared; turning into a glowing orb then fading completely. As soon as they faded I heard something bang into my metal folding chair that was at my desk just at the foot of my bed. It sounded like someone had run into it and had knocked it over, very loud. It was at this moment, that I was able to move. I immediately jumped up turned on the lights, opened the door and looked down the hall. Of course there was no one and the chair was still standing up and pushed under the desk as it should have been and of course there wasn’t a fire.

That’s where the story ends. Nothing happened and no one in the house had heard or seen anything. I’ve often thought about what I’d seen, maybe guardian angels or something. But I just don’t know. Still creeps me out though.
