Sharp-Toothed Creature

It happened when I was 16. I live in a small town in Massachusetts, but I was camping up in New Hampshire with one of my cousins. We were staying in very secluded cabin, where the nearest neighbor was at least three miles from us. We were just hanging out one night when my cousin heard a noise coming from outside the cabin (on the opposite side we were on). So we cautiously walked into the room to look out the window and see what is was.
At first I was thinking it was probably just a bear or something going through the garbage. But to this day I still don't know what it was that I saw. It was a creature that stood about 8 feet tall. I don't know if it heard us coming, but when we went into the room, it was just staring at us through the window. It had red eyes that just pierced right through us. It had a large set of razor-sharp teeth, and it looked as if it was smiling at us. Claws that seemed to come out forever (more likely, they came out about 6-8 inches).
My cousin had brought along his rifle, so he grabbed it just in case something happened. We went into another room because we did not want this thing to come in the window at us. We sat in the one room that did not have any windows and waited.
A few moments later, I heard the creature on the front porch of the cabin. My cousin raised the gun toward the door in case it tried to come in, and I just sat there scared out of my mind. I then heard the most blood-curdling scream I had ever heard in my life. It was the creature! I heard a loud bang, as if it had just run into the door full force. It must have left shortly after, because I didn't hear anything for the rest of the night.
Early the next morning, my cousin and I went outside to check it out. The door looked like it had been shot at with a .10 gauge shot gun. If that creature had tried one more time, he would have splintered that door. I can't explain it, but it has been one year since I have been to the cabin, and I don't know if I will ever go back.
