My family and I bought a place in Live Oak, Florida on May 5, 2005. The land that my house is on had been in one family for several generations. We were able to purchase the home and property because the owner had fallen ill and couldn't pay the mortgage on the house.
Since we moved in, my two children, guests and I have experienced many unexplained occurences. All of us have seen a figure of a large man going in and out of one particular bedroom. The door opens and closes and the light turns off and on when this figure is seen. A small-figured woman with long hair has also been seen walking around the house and looking through our things. We have heard the name Ed called in the house. When we are outside, we see our curtains pull back, as if someone is watching us. We hear the sound of movement in the house when nobody is inside.
My four-year-old son told me that he has a friend in the house named Ruby. Sometimes at night I hear the sound of a woman humming or someone whisper my name when nobody else is around. I have pictures taken with my cell phone that show a small, misty-looking figure, and one of my husband that has what looks like a skull coming out of his face.
Several strange things have happened. One day I was talking to my neighbor, who is related to the family that used to live in my house. I was telling her about the man and the woman we have seen, the names we have heard and about my son's playmate. When I finished my story, she was really upset and shocked because the figure of the man and the name Ed describes a man who lived in the house years before, and the figure of the woman and the name Ruby totally described Ed's wife. Both had died many years ago.
Many other things continue to happen, some not pleasant and kind of scary. One last thing I will tell is that one of the things in my house takes the form of me, my kids and other people and purposely scares the kids.
